Where is the farthest you have ever been away from home? Did you get homesick?

Funny they should ask this - I was discussing studying abroad with my parents, and about being homesick. I've been to New York, which from California is far. Yes, I've been homesick when I've been away long enough (I have relatives on the East Coast, so that's why I go there...).
Film & TV writers are on strike, which means everything except reality TV could halt production. Do you support the strike? Are any of your favorite shows in jeopardy?
I'm a writer (unpublished, but still a writer)... and I say: Go for it! Heck yeah! But I do feel like it could impact the industry, and to some extent, our economy (and viewers), so hopefully the admin. and the writers' union can come to some sort of compromise soon and settle things for the better! ^_^
What's the best late-night TV talk show?
Well, it's so hard to decide... i like 'em all, in all honesty. I keep flipping back and forth. Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien, David Letterman, Craig Ferguson (although I liked him better in the beginning, but then his jokes feel lame now - I think I was enchanted by that oh-so Scottish accent). Not a fan of Jimmy Kimmel, though.
